Katch 22’s Classic Shakespeare Adaptation of Macbeth
A brave Scottish general named Macbeth receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. Consumed by ambition and spurred to action by his wife, Macbeth murders King Duncan and takes the Scottish throne for himself.
He is then wracked with guilt and paranoia. Forced to commit more and more murders to protect himself from enmity and suspicion, he soon becomes a tyrannical ruler. The bloodbath and consequent civil war swiftly take Macbeth and Lady Macbeth into the realms of madness and death.

We wanted to thank you for a wonderful performance; the students were engaged and the performance was a fantastic way for students to consolidate their understanding, to revise and to appreciate the text in its proper medium. Thank you also for the insightful Q&A at the end — you handled the more ‘interesting’ questions from our spirited students like experts.

Let me start by saying that we LOVED the performances yesterday! I have had countless staff and students coming to see me to say thank you. Our students have not had many experiences during the last two years so this was a fantastic opportunity for them.
A very special mention has to go to the 3 WONDERFUL actors! I can not speak more highly of them, their performances, or their professionalism. (We had a fire evacuation in the middle of Macbeth… a tragedy indeed) They handled it so well. Their Q&A session for AIC was brilliant, I’m gutted we didn’t have time for the Macbeth Q&A. The actors have said that we can email some of our student’s questions and they’d be happy to reply which we’d love to take them up on.
We look forward to working with you again next year.

We loved it, thanks. It was really enjoyable. Both the performances and the discussion at the end were really spot on.
We recognised that the benefit of having only a few performers allowed each character to be properly spotlighted and for the purpose of studying the characters that is really useful, otherwise there are far too many interruptions to the most important dialogue. At times of high drama, I really felt you could hear a pin drop in the hall.
The actors Ange, Richard and Nathan are really charming people and obviously know how to deal with a teenage audience, they are very relaxed and comfortable with the students and encouraging, it was a delight to see our students in Year 11 particularly respond so well to them.
Thanks again, you have looked after us from the very start when we booked it, up to the end of the performance today.
