It was brilliant today! The students gained so much from the workshop. The answers to questions and discussion at the end was thoughtful: the facilitators went out of their way to ensure students understood that this was their personal interpretation and they then explained why. It’s clear that K22 are very knowledgeable about the text, Priestley and important contextual factors.

The leaders asked me beforehand what exam board we use and whether students get marks for context to ensure that they didn’t provide information that wouldn’t relevant to our students. Year 11 are now really prepared for their mock examination next week and their actual GCSE in a few months!
Let me start by saying that we LOVED the performances yesterday! I have had countless staff and students coming to see me to say thank you. Our students have not had many experiences during the last two years so this was a fantastic opportunity for them.
A very special mention has to go to the 3 WONDERFUL actors! I can not speak more highly of them, their performances, or their professionalism. (We had a fire evacuation in the middle of Macbeth…a tragedy indeed) They handled it so well. Their Q&A session for AIC was brilliant, I’m gutted we didn’t have time for the Macbeth Q&A. The actors have said that we can email some of our student’s questions and they’d be happy to reply which we’d love to take them up on.
We look forward to working with you again next year.

Students in Year 11 watched an excellent production of An Inspector Calls today by Katch 22 – ahead of their literature exam in the summer. Students developed their understanding of the importance of stagecraft and character development through key moments in the play.
